Business and Technical Problem

A common need for documents management in EDMS systems is also a publishing service to ensure controlled printing and a consistent look. Additionally, many documents in EDMS solutions can consist of several subdocuments, which permit them to be produced in different formats. For example, a textual part can be written in Word, a table in Excel and a picture of a thin layer chromatogram taken with digital camera in one of the picture formats. To get a consistent document with headers, footers and page numbering, all of these formats have to be converted to PDF, and several of the resulting PDF documents have to be fused into a single document.

Solution

myPress Suite is a technical solution for document publishing. It consists of three applications that can be used separately or in combination, depending on the customer’s publishing needs:

myPress Rendering Services is a module for the automatic insertion of document metadata into pre-defined locations within documents and the overlaying of document metadata onto Acrobat PDF documents. It is a way for publishing relevant business information in the document body by inserting metadata in the header and the footer of a document or to attach an approval page containing the representation of electronic signatures, including watermarking.

myPress PDF Publishing Services handles the requests for publishing compound documents into one large PDF document. The structure can be automatically generated from an existing virtual (compound) document and used as a template for further specific publishing.

myPress Suite is an application consisting of a set of services working as a self-standing application that has the ability to be seamlessly integrated with a Documentum repository and myProcess application.
